Hi, I am Saskia, the hands behind Ash & Elm. I carve all my pieces by hand using traditional carving tools. When I originally started selling my carvings in 2015 I searched for a brand name that was relevant and meaningful. According to Norse mythology the first humans were created when the gods breathed life into a piece of Ash (man) and Elm (woman) tree. As soon as I came across this story I knew I had found what I was looking for. Through my carvings I aspire to give life to ordinary pieces of wood.
